Wild camping is nature’s hotel. It is simple and serene. It excites and humbles and never fails to intrigue.
Wild camping is the key to your shackles
Modern living can become stifling at times. People are everywhere you look. Time is a cruel master which we must all obey.
It often feels as though you have been dropped into a nest of incredibly large ants. Ants that look more like monkeys. Monkeys which have a somewhat chaotic organization.
Time this, health and safety that…………busy, busy, BUSY!
Wild camping lets you release the grip of modern society. It is the key to your tightly wielded shackles. Your escape for a night or so.
Time is no longer a priority and instead it drifts by as it is supposed to.
Materials are not emphasized beyond their practical application.
Another soul may not be seen for the duration, except those you brought with.
Aggghhhh Serenity.
Wild Camping is Pure Simplicity
Wild camping is just you and whatever you carried on your back. Life’s essentials.
There is no hotel booking, no campsite to find. Check in times don’t exist. No security deposit.
Wild camping is pure simplicity. You decide where to lay your head. The ground is your mattress and the stars are your ceiling.
No alarms. No check out times. You wake up with sunrise, as does the rest of nature.
This simplistic existence takes us back to our roots. It allows us to experience a taste of how our tribal ancestors lived.
No spoon feeding, just life’s necessities. It is strangely enjoyable to find admiration in simplicity.
Wild Camping shows us the true outdoors
When staying at a campsite we are shown a limited version of the outdoors. Wild camping is different. It allows us a glimpse at nature without the protective veil.
For some this may be a little uncomfortable at first, but it makes the experience so much more real.
Nature falls asleep and rises again with you inside. This makes you see your place in it rather than just being a passer-by.
Animals that usually remain hidden may reveal themselves. You will experience the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all part of it.
There are no rules. Just moral codes. Wild camping is a freedom experience.
Connect around the campfire
Sometimes the pub gets stale. It’s always good to try something new. The campfire is the outdoor table.
A tribesman would rarely have seen others outside of his tribe. It’s different for most of us. We rarely find solitude.
In modern relaxation environments, there are always other unknowns or inanimate objects creating background noise.
This equals more distractions. More information for the brain to process. A bleep of a phone can suddenly interrupt and kill the conversation.
The campfire is sacred. If someone brings their phone to the campfire slap them.
With no distractions, wild camping lets you focus on those in your group entirely. Conversations naturally find a level of depth in this environment.
Words echo throughout the silence of the night whilst you gaze into the hypnotic elegance of the fire.
Wild camping helps you appreciate life more
The appreciation extends beyond the camp itself. The event was memorable but when you return to civilization you bring a piece of nature’s serenity with you.
Without the comforts of modern society your return brings with it an appreciation for that which may have previously been taken for granted.
Running water is deeply satisfying. You admire the minimal effort it takes to turn on a tap and see water flow out. A shower is a little piece of heaven.
You come back to modern civilization relaxed and restored prepared to tackle another bout of crazy.
You realize the truth of how easy your existence is within society and you are thankful……..
But…………………
A part of you misses the natural world so you look forward to your next adventure.
Rewild your life. Take a wild camp and leave the space as you found it!
